About Hebrew SeniorLife 

Hebrew SeniorLife is an integrated, eight-site system of health care, housing, research and teaching that serves thousands of seniors in the Greater Boston area and beyond. This unique and comprehensive system is aimed at expanding choices for adults as they age and improving their quality of life. From the Institute for Aging Research to innovative housing options, each component of this system is designed to help keep seniors independent in the community for as long as possible and, when necessary, to provide the best quality long-term care.

Health Care

Hebrew Rehabilitation Center -- a Harvard Medical School teaching affiliate that provides the following inpatient services:

Medical Acute Care Unit (MACU) -- providing extended medical and rehabilitative care for seniors with complex medical conditions in a long-term acute care hospital setting.

Recuperative Services Unit (RSU) -- providing short-term, post-acute care in a skilled nursing setting.

Specialized Care Unit -- providing dementia care that conforms to Alzheimer's Association guidelines.

Long-Term Care

The Bilingual Services Program -- a program designed to meet the needs of Russian-speaking residents and staffed by bilingual nursing assistants, nurses and physicians.

Department of Medicine --  providing staff physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician's assistants.

Community-Based Health and Wellness

  • offering seniors living in the community health and wellness programs, including clinics for audiology, memory disorders, osteoporosis screening, rehabilitation services, and the 'Get Up and Go' exercise program.

Continuing Care Retirement Communities

Hebrew SeniorLife's multigenerational community is currently being built on the 162-acre, private, wooded Dr. Miriam and Sheldon G. Adelson Campus in Dedham, Mass. This innovative community will include independent cottages and villas, 256 independent senior supportive housing units, assisted living, memory-assisted living, a 266-bed medical facility, and rehabilitation and long-term care services. An integral part of the community will be multigenerational programming with a K-8 school that will be located on the campus.

Research and Teaching

Hebrew SeniorLife is an affiliate of Harvard Medical School and academic headquarters for the Harvard Multi-Campus Fellowship in Geriatrics.
